BT a continuity finalist

BT is on the shortlist for two accolades in a prestigious annual awards scheme organised by the bi-monthly Continuity Insurance and Risk (CIR) journal.

BT Voice Continuity

The awards scheme, which recognises excellence within the fields of business continuity and operational risk management, celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.

And the BT Global Services business continuity team is on the shortlist for the special tenth anniversary award for outstanding excellence.

The team is competing against entries from IBM, HP, ADTAPT and Sungard Availability Services.

Also shortlisted - in the most innovative product category - are BT's Voice Continuity solution and BT Recover From Home. The latter is a joint solution offered by BT and Computacenter.

The winners will be announced during a special awards gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, on 8 May.

BT is a major sponsor of the awards, alongside a number of leading organisations including the City of London, The Business Continuity Institute, London First and IBM.

Ray Stanton, head of BT's business continuity, security and governance practice, is to present the outstanding excellence award.

He said: “This is a major step in BT's journey towards world-class excellence in business continuity - what better way to showcase our credentials than securing such distinguished endorsement from a major industry organisation.

“What’s more, BT's sponsorship of one of the main industry awards for business continuity reinforces our commitment to delivering outstanding service to our customers.”
